Abstract

The Orff Method has been introduced to Europe, the United States, and Canada as an advanced music teaching program, and, particularly, is recognized as an effective program in improving creativity, a modern educational idea. This study aimed to help to apply the Orff Method to education in Korea, beyond the theoretical range of foreign scholars whose culture and environment are different from ours, by systematizing a theory from my point of view on the basis of prior literatures through Orff activities I have performed in domestic Orff institutes and the teaching method I experienced at the Orff Institute in Salzburg, Austria in order to help to understand Carl Orff`s music education methodology more systematically and to encourage incumbent educators to utilize Korean contents on the firmer theoretical system and develop a better program.
