Abstract
Adopting more sustainable practices is an option for any size or type of business. There is much low-hanging fruit, where more sustainable conduct is immediately profitable. Numerous studies have shown that it pays to be green. Most studies also find that stock markets reward more sustainable behaviour. Governments have a key role to play in helping businesses become more sustainable. There is a dire need for generally accepted metrics for corporate initiatives that support greater sustainability.
