Abstract
The study is a modern analytical summary of the parasite fauna of Sebastes marinus over the most part of its distribution range. The work presents the status of problem, peculiarities of formation, ecology and zoogeography of the parasite fauna of S. marinus in seven areas of the North Atlantic (the coasts of Canada, Greenland and Iceland) and six areas of the Arctic Ocean (the Barents, the Norwegian and the Greenland Seas). The results of the analysis of geographic peculiarities of the parasite fauna of S. marinus and some information on the life cycle and the ecology of S. marinus suggests the existence of at least three populations in the range under study with probable local groups therein.
