Abstract
Tandis que la tradition définissait le sujet comme pure conscience, le repliement narcissique auquel nous assistons suscite un retour du refoulé. Le socle de l’identité n’est donc plus le cogito, mais la vérité élémentaire du corps. Du coup, se multiplient des auteurs hypocondriaques, hantés par les dérèglements de leur organisme, comme il en va de Serge Doubrovsky, marqué par la maladie et dont les autofictions convertissent les maux en mots. Dans Fils (1977), la vie de l’auteur devient chronique médicale : en un jeu constant du somatique et du psychique, les maladies changent de forme, réactivées par la lecture du Larousse médical ou des récits de cas freudiens. Une telle œuvre ressemble donc au « pharmakon » de Platon, puisque le livre apparaît à la fois comme « purge » et « poison » : occasion de reconnaître que le mal est sans remède, et qu’il nous faut accepter l’irrémédiable.
