Abstract
The author once went to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, experiencing the local life there. She witnessed a lot of people from different parts of the world. Although many of them were possessed of professional knowledge and technique, they were unable to get proper positions in short time only because of the problem of communication. About a half of them came from Asia. In order to give assistance to those newcomers, the Canadian government has offered effectual English teaching service. This article makes a brief introduction to its programs, courses, teaching materials and methods, etc. for reference by those who are engaged in English teaching in Taiwan.
