Abstract
In the forty-year period under review there have been a number of important developments in Anglo-Canadian contract law, many representing significant changes from former law, and some representing a marked departure from the law in other common law jurisdictions. It is difficult to discern the operation of any overarching philosophy or principle, and perhaps none should be expected, since contract law, like other aspects of law, responds to the changing needs of society as the courts perceive them from time to time.
