Abstract
El gobierno de México envía desde 1974 a Canadá a hombres y mujeres bajo el Pro-grama de Trabajadores Agrícolas Temporales (PTAT) y, desde 2009, a través del Pro-yecto Piloto (PP). Esta investigación, desde una visión antropológica, emplea la teoría de las representaciones sociales y el multimétodo conformado por palabras evocativas, entrevistas semiestructuradas, escala de valores y observación participante para deve-lar cuales son las representaciones que los hombres migrantes tienen respecto a los habitantes de Saint-Rémi, Quebec, y comprender cómo se gestan y cómo son las rela-ciones entre ambos grupos. Las nociones estructurales de las representaciones fueron: respecto a los canadienses-quebequenses de individualistas, excluyentes y racistas; la de los latinoamericanos-quebequenses de solidarios; la del espacio canadiense como un sitio de oportunidades; y la del trabajo agrícola como difícil.
