Avec près de 900 millions d’utilisateurs, le réseau social en ligne chinois QQ est de loin le plus populaire en République Populaire de Chine (RPC). Pour les jeunes internautes du groupe ethnique majoritaire (Han), comme pour ceux faisant partie des nationalités minoritaires, QQ permet de se divertir et de communiquer, mais aussi de mettre en avant et de façonner des identités particulières. Cet article vise à problématiser la question des identités minoritaires en Chine dans ce contexte d’effervescence technolo­gique et d’urbanité, où l’image de soi présentée en ligne prend parfois ses distances avec les catégories ethniques promues par l’État depuis 60 ans.
