Abstract
Dans ce texte, le président du Conseil supérieur de l’éducation discute de celle-ci en tant que bien commun, mais également en tant que bien particulier. Il démontre l’importance du rôle de l’État en matière d’accessibilité à l’éducation. Ainsi, en pratique, seul l’État, en tant que responsable premier du bien commun et de la justice distributive, est capable d’assurer cette accessibilité à tous et en pleine égalité, grâce aux impôts et aux taxes qu’il perçoit des citoyens et des entreprises. L’auteur avance cinq propositions sur les fonctions générales de l’État en matière d’éducation, réaffirmant ainsi le caractère public de l’éducation.
