Abstract
The changing of scientific paradigms observed at present and reorientation of philology from the problems of language to the problems of speech means a transfer of attention from the questions concerning the system character of the language to the questions of functioning of the language in different conditions of communication. The article deals with new approach to the study of borrowing phraseological calques in French language. A theoretical background for some peculiarities of lexical system of Canadian French language is defined. The specific of borrowing in bilingual situation is shown by the example of phraseological calques. Different groups of calques and the reasons of their penetration in Canadian French language are determined. The prospects for the analysis of borrowing of this type in the light of extralinguistic factors and some other factors are marked.
