El presente articulo analiza, desde una perspectiva cercana a la sociologia de la cultura, una serie de practicaspedagogicas desarrolladas en ambitos formales de ensenanza en Espana, Estados Unidos y Canada quese inscriben dentro de la propuesta educativa en cultura visual. Para este proposito se da cuenta de: (1)Las herramientas teorico-metodologicas empleadas para el analisis (2) La manera en que los profesores y/oinvestigadores que desarrollaron estas practicas pedagogicas interpretaron y usaron diferentes referentesteoricos y educativos en los que fundamentan sus propuestas. (3) El tipo de practicas pedagogicas realizadas(fundamentos, perspectivas, objetivos, desarrollo y alcances) y la comprension y uso que dentro de estaspracticas se le dan a las imagenes (criterio de seleccion, sentido atribuido, modos de utilizacion).
