Abstract
Theme of formation of youth subcultures a long time is still valid. Of particular interest are subculture formed on a national basis. Japanese youth subcultures are inextricably linked to street fashion. First youth subcultures of Japan appeared due to young people experimenting on the streets of Tokyo. Their appearance was a protest against traditional Japanese ideals of beauty and social customs. The regions and districts of Tokyo, which were the reason the emergence and formation of youth subcultures in Japan are considered. Details disclosed history Shibuya (Harajuku quarter), Shinjuku (Akihabara) and Ginza. The article describes the original appearance of representatives of various subcultures. Features of the youth fashion trends were analyzed. The uniqueness of Japanese street fashion is proved. It is proved that subcultural districts became centers of fashion modern Japan.
