Abstract
Con una izquierda democratica incapaz de proponer programas de transformaciones consistentes frente a la crisis capitalista, el liderazgo moral e intelectual de la izquierda esta desplazandose desde los bastiones occidentales en direccion al Sur. En ese marco, una parte de America Latina transita por un populismo de izquierda que, aunque guarda puntos en comun con el populismo clasico, presenta rasgos diferenciados. Al mismo tiempo, parece una alternativa mas factible que las transiciones socialdemocratas radicales, debido a las estrictas condiciones que requieren estas para obtener resultados exitosos.
