Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This chapter focuses on coal mining in Alberta and southern Saskatchewan, located north of Montana and North Dakota (USA). The overall objective of coal mine reclamation is to make mining a temporary land use and to accomplish this by returning the site to a level of potential use equal to or better than that which existed before mining. It must be recognized however, that within a particular postmine landscape there are various opportunities for, and limitations to, development of specific land uses. These postmine land use plans and the accompanying landscape must be developed in conjunction with development of the mine plan. These plans are backed by some form of financial security that is provided by the operator and held by the government. Premining soil assessments and soil salvage and replacement activities are a critical part of the materials handling process associated with surface mining.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
