Le présent article compare les révoltes étudiantes qui, dans les années 68, secouèrent la France et le Québec. Il ne s’agit pas simplement ici de juxtaposer des faits, mais de dégager aussi des points de contact par-delà toute la distance qui sépare ces deux sociétés. Rompant avec les études plus classiques qui se bornent à évaluer la part d’influence que la France a eue sur l’orientation des groupes étudiants québécois, cette recherche pousse plus loin l’analyse et cherche à fonder un modèle interprétatif qui, empruntant principalement aux travaux français, vise à enrichir la compréhension des facteurs ayant nourri l’activisme politique à la fin des années 1960 de part et d’autre de l’océan.
