Abstract
A crisis is a change or circumstance that makes a decision necessary. Academic libraries have responded positively and proactively to some crises, whereas others have been so great that libraries could only adapt to large societal changes in order to survive. This article focuses on three crises over the past decades – the serials crisis, the search crisis, and the financial crisis – and identifies differences and similarities, and draws conclusions.
