Abstract
ELPS (Efficient, Long- Term, Photovoltaic Solution) technology has been developed at CSI. Five-inch ELPS cells combine both metal wrap through (MWT) and selective emitter (SE) structures to obtain average cell efficiency 19.41% and champion 19.78%. Front metal pattern, SE structure, via metallization, and the cell interconnection have been optimized to achieve high cell performance. Modules power using 72 pcs of 5-inch MWT cells reaches average value over 210W, with the maximum 214.5W, certificated by TÜV. With extra layer of solder resist on the cell and special layout of the back electrodes, the interconnection becomes much easier for tabbing. It proves 5-inch ELPS technology is ready for transfer from the lab to the production floor at CSI.
