Abstract
본 연구는 만성 통증의 지각에 대한 낙관주의 성향과 기분 상태의 효과를 검증하기 위해 구성되었다. 이를 이해 총 84명의 만성 통증을 가진 대학생(여48명, 남36명)들을 낙관주의 성향 점수에 의해 무선적으로 각각 낙관주의 상·하 집단으로 분류하였다. 그리고 개별적으로 기분 유발 실험을 위해 실험실에서 특정 음악(행복한·슬픈)을 잠시 동안 듣게 한 후 자신의 인생에서 행복했던(혹은 슬펐던)사건에 대해 자세히 회상하도록 하였다. 마지막으로 단축형 McGill 통증 질문지와 기분질문지를 완성하였다. 결과 처리를 위해 이원변량분석이 실시되었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫번째 높은 낙관주의 성향 집단은 낮은 낙관주의 성향 집단에 비해 유의미하게 더 낮은 통증 감각과 통증 강도를 지각하였다. 두 번째, 행복한 기분 집단은 슬픈 기분 집단에 비해 더 낮은 통증 감각과 통증 강도를 지각하였다. 마지막으로 낙관주의 성향과 기분 상태간의 상호작용 효과는 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 높은 낙관주의 성향 집단과 행복한 기분 상태가 만성 통증에 대해 긍정적 효과를 가진다는 사실을 제안하는 것이다. 그러나 만성 통증에 대해 낙관주의 성향과 기분상태간의 상호작용 효과는 유의미하지 않았기 때문에 만성 통증의 치료를 이해서 성격 특질적 요인이나 상황적 요인 중 한가지만을 향상시키기 보다는 두 요인을 동시에 향상시키는 것이 더 효과적이라 할 수 있겠다.
