Cet article problématise la gestion et la valorisation de l’intimité entre adolescents sur les sites de réseaux sociaux, en lien avec l’acquisition du prestige social. Le lien social, amical ou amoureux, est caractérisé par les adolescents en fonction du degré d’intimité partagé avec ceux qui les ont « choisis ». À partir des résultats d’une enquête ethnographique en ligne, l’auteure montre la corrélation qui existe entre la notion d’intimité et la notion d’exclusivité dans les processus de négociation du lien social entre adolescents. La question de la socialisation de genre par rapport à la gestion de l’intimité est également analysée à la lumière des résultats.
