Abstract
Une vache Holstein de sept ans est referee a la faculte de medecine veterinaire de Saint-Hyacinthe (Quebec) pour anorexie, deperissement progressif, chute de la production lactee et douleur abdominale. La presence des epanchements abdominal et thoracique, la douleur abdominale et la tachycardie avec pouls jugulaire, orientent le diagnostic en premiere analyse vers une reticuloperitonite traumatique avec pericardite, mais la radiographie et l'echographie permettent d'eliminer cette hypothese. Lors d'une laparotomie exploratrice, de nombreux nodules de 1 a 50 mm de diametre sont observes sur le peritoine et l'ensemble des sereuses abdominales. Suite a la constatation d'un phenomene tumoral generalise, l'animal est euthanasie. Les examens histopathologiques permettent d'etablir un diagnostic de mesotheliome. Le mesotheliome est un cancer rarement diagnostique chez les bovins, mais il n'est pas possible de savoir si cela est du a sa rarete ou bien au fait qu'il peut etre facilement confondu avec d'autres entites pathologiques et que son diagnostic histologique reste difficile
