O presente artigo atenta para a importância do Design de Informacao e sua aplicacao em ferramentas informativas e educativas para pacientes com diabetes. Este foi fruto de uma pesquisa realizada em parceria com Children s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) a fim de avaliar a compreensao de 35 pictogramas relacionados ao contexto da doenca. Uma analise preliminar, realizada com 15 voluntarios, mostrou uma homogeneidade nas respostas. Algumas imagens nao foram compreendidas por desconhecimento de seu significado. Contudo, a amostra e muito inferior ao universo pretendido, impossibilitando interpretacoes conclusivas.
