Abstract
Cet article présente une analyse de l’interaction entre langue, discours et culture dans une langue amérindienne du Québec. La première partie de l’article est consacrée à l’examen de la règle discursive de l’utilisation du nom de personne alors que la deuxième procède à l’analyse de diverses formes verbales exprimant le doute et l’incertitude. Nous montrons comment une compréhension de la culture nous donne accès à l’interprétation des règles du discours.
