Abstract
L’un des couples épistémologiques régulièrement invoqué dans la critique littéraire est le rapport entre le « lyrique » et le « comique ». Pourtant présentés comme fondateurs dans l’histoire et la théorie modernes du poème, ces termes constituent peut-être moins un instrument heuristique qu’un véritable lieu commun. L’objectif de cet article est de mettre à l’étude quelques-uns des présupposés qui entourent la notion de « lyrique » en usage dans l’analyse comique du texte poétique. Car entre le « lyrique » et le « comique », c’est le second qui est souvent l’élément marqué, tandis que le premier ressortit plutôt au donné. D’un côté, en soulignant ses composantes pragmatiques et esthétiques, le comique engage une conception résolument hybride et polyphonique du texte ; de l’autre, le lyrique indexe une représentation éclectique, ambiguë, sinon stéréotypée du phénomène poétique.
