Abstract
An argument is presented that gender must be decolonised and decolonisation must be gendered in order to achieve self-determination of Canada's Indigenous communities. The issues in the ongoing discussions on the disengagement between gender and Indigenous sovereignty and the Canadian Government's efforts to address the disparity and existing gender inequities.
