The article is devoted to the insufficiently explored aspect of the regional history of our country in the modern science the research of the problem of Franco-Russian cultural relations in the last quarter of the eighteenth century the first half of the nineteenth century, in particular, the problem of the perception of French literature by Russian provincial nobility. Revealing peculiarites of the provincial bookish culture in the article is based on learning and analyzing of the private library of Tsurikovs. The article has been compiled from on documents of archivical (including unpublished) and memoirical historical sources.
