Abstract
L’adaptation de la pièce de théâtre éponyme, La Face cachée de la lune (2003), réalisée par le Québécois Robert Lepage, est un film qui se donne à voir comme l’histoire d’une recherche fervente du poétique, entendue comme une quête de l’humain, dans un univers où prévalent la banalité, le conformisme, le matérialisme, l’anonymat et l’ennui. Montage de récits autoréflexifs et d’univers kaléidoscopiques, ce film entraîne le spectateur dans un périple fantastique où s’opposent et se concilient à la fois le fini et l’infini, le banal et le sublime, le terrestre et le céleste, le familier et le mystérieux. Cette étude est une analyse des procédés formels mis en place dans le film pour favoriser la lecture de l’histoire de Philippe, le personnage principal, comme une réinvention de soi ainsi que de l’expression poétique par le biais du technologique dans le monde contemporain.
