Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine how the external influences affect youth hockey players' sportsmanship behavior. The researcher hoped to issue an understanding to coaches, parents, and administrators alike, as to how the young athletes' sportsmanship is influenced.Participants were males whom attended the 2002 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. The researcher collected data during four days of the tournament by meeting with each team and distributing a 16-question survey to a total of 254 athletes. The results of the study were analyzed using descriptive statistics and indicated that, as hypothesized, the coach was the largest influence over the young hockey players' sportsmanship behavior.
