Abstract
The theme of the conference program International Alliance for Perioperative Best Practice provided the venue for a gathering of perioperative leaders from around the globe to meet and exchange ideas. I focused on those sessions exploring patient safety, new or developing clinical techniques, infection control, and international perioperative issues. As an Australian abroad, it is also essential to support those Australian perioperative nurses who have the courage to undertake presentations at international forums and to Zaneta Smith and Carolyn Ellis I congratulate you both on excellent presentations.
