Abstract
Le bien commun constitue une expression difficilement saisissable qui se décompose en deux pôles dès qu’on l’approche : la « part commune » (la réalité) et le « sentiment commun » (une représentation affective de la réalité). Or ces deux pôles évoluent dans des directions opposées. La rupture s’explique par une série de facteurs qui transforment, à différents niveaux, le légitime esprit critique en un cynisme projetant la pensée postmoderne dans un pessimisme radical. Cette situation engendre un refus, un rejet et un mépris de l’action commune, ainsi qu’une décomposition de l’espace démocratique. Bien que l’écart des deux pôles soit à maints égards inévitable, il pose un nouveau défi à la « raison commune ».
