Cet article examine si la presse a pu participer la construction de l'idologie et des attitudes linguistiques aux XVII e et XVIII e sicles. La recherche est fonde sur l'analyse d'un corpus de priodiques gnralistes comprenant trois journaux d'actualit (la Gazette, la Gazette d'Amsterdam, le Journal de Paris), le Journal des savans et le Mercure galant. Nos analyses visent dterminer si et comment ces supports mdiatiques ont pu toucher l'image de la langue. Il est possible de comparer le discours mtalinguistique de la presse pr-moderne deux autres types de textes : les livres de remarques produits au sicle classique, et les chroniques de langue dans la presse moderne.
