Abstract
La projection est le moyen privilégié de regarder des diapositives sur support transparent. Du milieu du 19e siècle jusqu’à la fin du 20e siècle, ce mode de visibilité a élargi le champ de réception de l’image fixe vers une perception spectaculaire et dématérialisée. Par cela, la position de la diapositive n’a cessé de créer des zones de frottement qui ont favorisé des processus de dialogue et d’évaluation à l’égard d’autres catégories d’images comme la photographie sur papier et le cinéma. L’évocation de quelques moments clés permet d’identifier les paliers où ont pu se jouer les épisodes du destin de cette photographie qui a confié son mode d'existence au flux de lumière d’un projecteur.
