RÉSUMÉ Ce livre sur le deuil et les arts comme moyen de guérison s'adresse avant tout aux prestateurs professionals de soins mentaux et physiques dont les patients font face à la mort, à une perte ou à un deuil. Il traite du rôle de la créativité exprimée par diverses formes artistiques et servant à alléger l'affliction qui entoure ou suit la perte. La force de ce livre repose sur l'ampleur avec laquelle il définit les termes en incluant toute une gamme de pertes et sur sa vaste définition de l'art. Aux informations anecdotiques s'ajoutent un nombre important de ressources et d'exemples concrets sur le mode d'intégration de l'art au processus de guérison émotive. Bien que les auteurs fournissent peu de données empiriques à l'appui de leur approche, le livre offre tout de même des options créatrices qui viennent compléter les interventions traditionnelles. Le mode de présentation du matériel met l'accent sur les choix qui s'offrent aux thérapeutes et à leurs patients.
