Abstract
Aerogel is a material which can generate large amounts of muonium ( + e -or Mu). Aerogel with substructures opens the possibility of higher emission efficiency of Mu into vacuum than aerogel without structures. Samples of laser-ablated aerogel, with a substructure consisting of many small holes, was created to measure its Mu emission. The yield of Mu into vacuum from the laser-ablated aerogel with the smallest hole pitch is at least eight times as high as that from normal aerogel
