Abstract
The correct seating of a ceramic liner is integral to the hip's survival, 1 with malseating being associated with ceramic fracture and earlier wear rates. 2 A simple technique for seating the spherical ceramic liner is illustrated in Figure The liner is introduced with one finger in the rim. It is lifted upwards (cranially) with some pressure, aligning the taper of the liner against the taper of the cup (force 1). Once the tapers are strictly parallel, the liner can be introduced by gliding it into the cup (force 2) while maintaining cranial pressure.
