Abstract

This article concerns the diagnosis of discrete event systems based on ordinary Petri net models with faulty behaviours. Such behaviours are modelled as firing sequences with some faults transitions. The firing sequences are estimated. This work focuses on the structural analysis of the Petri net models. On one hand sets of places with minimal cardinality are characterized to detect and isolate immediately the firing of fault transitions. On the other hand causality relationships and directed paths are investigated to characterize the influence and dependence areas of the fault transitions. Delayed diagnosis is obtained as a consequence. The main advantage oj our approach is to evaluate the diagnosability and to design admissible diagnosers for discrete event systems in a systematic way without expanding the reachability graph. Sensor location is obtained as a consequence.
