Abstract

Cette étude s’est déroulée en 2001-2004 dans deux réseaux d’établissements de la région montréalaise. Inspirée d’une perspective infirmière centrée sur la personne et sa famille et par l’approche de recherche par théorisation ancrée, elle a permis de reconstituer et de décrire en profondeur, à partir des divers acteurs (personnes âgées, proches, infirmières), douze histoires d’intégration et de proposer une première théorie de l’intégration des soins infirmiers auprès des personnes âgées fragiles. Cette théorie, ancrée dans le quotidien des soins auprès de ces personnes, pourra guider les chercheurs, les cliniciens et les décideurs à mieux comprendre comment et pourquoi certaines histoires d’intégration se déroulent bien alors que d’autres sont la source de conflits, d’insatisfactions et même, parfois, d’une détérioration importante de la situation de santé de la personne âgée fragile.
