Abstract
Transportation is one of the areas where increasing levels of CO2 emission have been the hardest to curb. The Chinese government has a clear policy for sustainable transportation development. However, the question of how to transfer policies into viable actions is very important. This paper discusses this issue from a business aspect. A sustainable policy is strategically important for business to survive and develop in China. Firstly, this paper gives an overview of the national sustainable transportation policy and its impact on business. Secondly, Shanghai IKEA is used as a case study and the transport characteristics of its customers are analyzed. CO2 emissions for different modes are also calculated. Finally, based on the analysis, some reasonable suggestions are put forward keeping IKEA's business in mind.
