Abstract
Always growing, always reaching out, always attentive to the educational needs of its vast international constituency, the ICOI provides basic and advanced dental implant education through local and regional Affiliate and Component Society meetings. Whether they take place in Colombia, Italy, Spain, United States, Canada, Germany, Egypt, or in any other of the many countries that comprise the ICOI family of 12,000+ members, different formats of educational outreach are forever expanding to benefit doctors and auxiliaries and their minions of patients. Naturally, there is the always anticipated Annual World Congress which takes place this year in Seoul, Korea (October 6–9). Yet, these are not the only forums and forms of dental implant education. From the globally distributed Glossary II of Implant Dentistry comprised of terminology and nomenclature, to the webinars of online education, to this journal, Implant Dentistry, clinically useful material and techniques, and the current scientific research, are continually presented to clinicians and researchers alike. Now, talking about “this journal,” please look at the cover. There are 2 exciting new features that help to share this storehouse of knowledge: our unique translations of abstracts into 8 languages (in sync with the word “international” as in International Congress of Oral Implantologists), a service that we pioneered years ago, continues online-only. Then, there is PAP, the acronym for Publish Ahead-of-Print. This advanced service is now available online, not instead of the articles appearing in printed format within the pages of the journal but before they appear between the covers of the printed version. Detailed descriptions of, and access requirements to, these services are given below. Translated Abstracts Translated abstracts will no longer be in print version of Implant Dentistry; instead, this will be available online-only at www.implantdent.org. On the Web site, the translated abstracts will be available in 2 locations: (1) in the Table of Contents, listed under Translated Abstracts, or (2) In the Collections tab, listed under Translated Abstracts. Please note that in both locations, the translated abstracts will now be grouped by language, rather than by article. The abstracts will be available in PDF files and some languages will also have HTML files available. Publish Ahead-of-Print Implant Dentistry is pleased to offer electronic publication of accepted papers prior to print publication. These papers can be cited using the date of access and the unique DOI number. Any final changes in manuscripts will be made at the time of print publication and will be reflected in the final electronic version of the issue.
