Abstract
The combination of traffic engineered Carrier Ethernet (e.g. IEEE 802.1ad / 802.1Qay) and 40G/100G Optical Transport Networks (OTN per ITU-T G.709) presents the underpinnings for a converged packet/optical network architecture with the flexibility to support existing SD/HD demands and the scalability to support 3G-SDI (2Kx1080p50/60), 4K and beyond in the future.
