Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

An experimental methodology to characterise the resonant aeroacoustic sources generated by ducted flow with a complex geometry is proposed. Measurements of the resonant acoustic pressure acquired using microphone analysis are combined with an estimate of the natural acoustic mode shape to determine the instantaneous resonant acoustic field. The non-intrusive flow measurement technique, particle image velocimetry, is used to quantify the hydrodynamic flow field structures. The instantaneous spatial distribution of acoustic sources and sinks are obtained using these data as input to Howe’s integral. Phase averaging of the quantitative, instantaneous flow patterns obtained using particle image velocimetry is required to deal with hydrodynamic variation due to the high Reynolds number regime. Two approaches are considered and compared. The methodology is applied to flow over a group of four cylinders orientated in a square and it is found that the distribution of the aeroacoustic sources resembles those generated by a set of two tandem cylinders with a similar geometric configuration.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
