Abstract
Zusammenfassung Das traditionelle grönländische Gewohnheitsrecht, das für Dorfbewohnerinnen und Dorfbewohner in den kleinen Siedlungen an der grönländischen Westküste von Bedeutung ist, trifft auf das globale Recht des globalen Umweltschutzregimes. Können vor diesem Hintergrund traditionelle Gewohnheitsrechte von indigenen Völkern in einer Weltgesellschaft aufrechterhalten werden? Wie das Beispiel der grönländischen Inuit verdeutlicht, lässt sich der Konflikt um die Fortführung der Jagdaktivitäten jedoch nicht als ein Konflikt zwischen Gesellschaften begreifen, die unterschiedliche Rechts- und Rationalitätsauffassungen besitzen. Denn die Strukturmuster des globalen Modells von Natur werden von den intellektuellen Eliten in der grönländischen Selbstverwaltung übernommen, die Informationskampagnen über den biologischen Status der Tierarten durchführen. Jäger lehnen diese Informationen und Jagdrestriktionen ab und berufen sich auf ihre traditionellen Jagdrechte. Es entwickeln sich somit intragesellschaftliche Konflikte syrischen grönländischen Eliten und Jägern und dadurch Situationen des Rechtspluralismus innerhalb Grönlands.
