Abstract
RÉSUMÉ : Les théologiens des xiiie et xive siècles ont ardemment débattu à propos de la scientificité de la théologie. J’expose ici la position d’Hervaeus Natalis, un penseur fort singulier du premier quart du xive siècle. Selon Hervé, la notion centrale pour résoudre la question en présence est celle d’abstraction. Cet article offre une analyse historique et philosophique de sa position qui s’appuie sur une traduction française inédite d’une portion significative d’un Quodlibet d’Hervé que j’ai réalisée à partir de ma propre édition de l’original latin.
