Abstract
La réflexion politique zolienne pose en termes problématiques la question de la représentation. Bien avant la période dreyfusarde ou même la rédaction des romans politiques des Rougon-Macquart , c’est dans le creuset de la chronique parlementaire que la suspicion zolienne à l’endroit de la médiation politique prend forme. Celle-ci se développe au contact d’une parole tribunitienne le plus souvent déficiente : la députation conservatrice qui détient la majorité de la Chambre fait en effet un usage dévoyé de la discussion politique. Auditeur attentif des sonorités parlementaires de l’éloquence moderne, Zola, pressentant les dérives du régime parlementaire, se pose en concurrent des tribuns en opposant à la fiction du discours politique officiel celle de l’écrivain-journaliste.
