Abstract
More than 2250 Coniagui, Bassari and Bedik artefacts entered the collections of Musée de l'Homme, the Museums of Dakar and Saint Louis, the Universities of Montréal (Canada) and Bordeaux, the Museum fur Völkerkunde of Hamburg, (Deutschland) during last century. They allow us to question both the evolution of the involved societies and the various interests of the different collectors.
