Abstract
La famille contemporaine se transforme et donne lieu a une variete accrue de profils et de trajectoires. Observee depuis plusieurs decennies deja, cette mobilite familiale represente une tendance consideree comme durable, un phenomene avec lequel il faut vivre et auquel il faut s’adapter. C’est dans ce contexte que la recherche de strategies favorables a l’ajustement des membres occupe activement la recherche psychosociale interessee au developpement des personnes et de leur communaute. Pendant qu’elle se transforme, cette famille demeure, de tres loin, le contexte de vie le plus important au sein de notre societe: 85 % des Canadiens et Canadiennes vivent dans une residence privee avec des membres de leur parente (Statistique Canada, 1998). Le portrait de nos communautes est sculpte par les caracteristiques des familles qui les composent. La sante des familles est non seulement un determinant puissant du bien-etre de ses membres mais aussi de la sante communautaire. Le present numero de la Revue canadienne de sante mentale communautaire est consacre aux transitions familiales engendrees par la separation des parents ou le placement d’un enfant en milieu substitut. Un eventail original de contributions scientifiques est fourni, en anglais et en francais, ou les enjeux relationnels des transitions familiales sont privilegies.
