Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Before analysing contingent aspects and bifurcation in life histories, it is first necessary to define the frame of reference in relation to which these histories are deemed to be atypical. An international comparison between three sample groups of young people from contrasting backgrounds (Argentina, France, Quebec) has revealed life paths of reference, constructed in the interaction between the paths followed and the surrounding institutions and marking out the way to professional integration. These life paths illustrate the plurality of norms relating to integration, employment, careers and life history in each country and emphasise the differences in the normative systems as well as their effects on the processes of entering working life.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
