This paper presents new developments within the framework of a well -established anisotropic mesh adaptation methodology, introduced to enhance the adaptation of weak and multiple discontinuiti es and reduce the overall number of solution -adaptation cycles for convergence. A shock -filter model, as used in signal processing, is applied to the solution field, followed by a metric correction to further align the mesh with the solution gradients. A s moothing process complements the method by eliminating spurious oscillations in the solution. Flow test cases with discontinuities demonstrate the efficiency of the method.
