Cet article présente l’expérience et le point de vue de parents vivant en contexte de pauvreté. À la lumière d’une recherche participative réalisée avec deux groupes de parents vivant avec des enfants en bas âge, nous présenterons le savoir expérientiel commun qui a pris forme au fil des rencontres et des thèmes abordés. Il sera question des souffrances rencontrées, mais aussi des colères face à leurs conditions d’existence. Ils nous parleront de leur rôle de parents, et leur point de vue fort critique sur des programmes sociaux qui sont censés les aider. Nous nous pencherons sur les retombées de ces démarches, ainsi que sur ses limites en termes d’action, de croisements des savoirs et de transformation des rapports sociaux, en soulignant ultimement les enjeux politiques qui s’en dégagent.
