In order to study unsteady process of shock-induced combustion and detonation of incoming flow at a high static temperature, a new facility was devised to produced highenthalpy premixed continuous supersonic gas, of which the static temperature was up to 700K. This novel design method integrate the mirror Laval nozzles into combustion heater. The premixed fuel was injected into the supersonic flow from special angle through several arrays of orifices in the nozzles in the expanding position, which will enhance the mixing of the fuel into the supersonic flow and weaken the disturbance of incoming flow. Some pressure transducers and a thermal couple were mounted on the mixing segment for confirming whether pre-ignition was happened. At last, the unstable processes of shockinduced combustion and detonation caused by fixing a wedge with 20 degree angle in the supersonic flow were investigated in detail with the help of high speed schlieren photograph, along with the unsteady behaviors of detachment detonation. The result shows that two metastable states, that is, shock-induced combustion and detachment detonation, exists simultaneously in current experiment and the transition process between the two states is very quickly.
