Abstract
Le décès d’un enfant, en cours de grossesse ou peu de temps après sa naissance, est un événement qui affecte le personnel infirmier. Confrontées aux émotions intenses des parents, les infirmières du milieu périnatal doivent continuer de prodiguer des soins, et ce, tout en gérant leurs propres émotions. Cet article a pour but de documenter les facteurs psychosociaux de l’environnement de travail en contexte de décès périnatal et leurs effets sur la santé des infirmières, afin de proposer une stratégie organisationnelle susceptible de contribuer à l’atténuation de ces facteurs stressants. Le modèle exigences-contrôle-soutien de Karasek et Theorell (1990) a guidé l’analyse des écrits à l’aide de ses concepts : la demande psychologique, la latitude décisionnelle et le soutien social. Des réflexions exposées, il ressort qu’il serait bénéfique d’améliorer le soutien organisationnel au sein des unités de périnatalité et de mieux outiller les infirmières face aux défis que pose le décès périnatal.
